This depends on the reason you would like a test and where you are travelling to. Some countries will accept Antigen/Lateral Flow tests to enter, whilst others require a PCR test. You must check before booking your test and certainly before travelling.

Antigen tests tell you have the viral proteins found on the Covid-19 present in your nose or throat and would be infectious to others. A PCR test detects whether you have the actual SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in your nose or throat which is a more accurate form of robust testing, as such it is the most recognised form of proof you do not have the virus. 

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak as a global health emergency. This means that the WHO has classified Covid-19 as a pandemic. To help contain the spread of the virus, many companies have started developing rapid test kits to detect the virus. These tests can be used at home or in hospitals to determine if someone is infected with the virus.

PCR tests are more sensitive than Lateral Flow tests, and are thereby more capable of picking up the presence of the virus, even in the early stages of infection. Because of this higher sensitivity and more accurate results, more countries are likely to accept PCR tests as proof of a negative COVID result.
